About the role
We have a new opportunity to join the team as our Stakeholder Engagement Lead. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll thrive on collaboration, influence, and making a tangible impact on communities and the environment.
In this exciting role, you’ll guide how we engage with regulators, local authorities, environmental groups, and communities to deliver our Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP). This is your opportunity to drive change, foster trust, and ensure we can deliver a near-to-long-term plan that truly delivers for our communities, the environment, and future generations.
To achieve this, you will identify and maintain a stakeholder register throughout planning. This includes leading engagement activities and communications using diverse channels to build partnerships and handle stakeholder queries.
You’ll prepare stakeholder engagement materials for formal consultation and assurance reporting which will identify how stakeholder input influences the DWMP.
Within this role collaboration with the customer research team is key as you’ll ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Therefore, documenting feedback and its impact is key as you’ll provide regular progress updates to the Board for oversight and assurance.
About you
If you have experience in stakeholder management and delivering engagement strategies, then we want to hear from you.
You’ll demonstrate experience in leading consultations, coordinating engagement activities, and building effective partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups. This will be underpinned by your ability to put customers and communities at the heart of planning.
Strategic planning experience is also key, coupled with the ability to lead engagement initiatives as you’ll use your communication skills to build trust and achieve goals.
This means you’ll be experienced in chairing collaborative groups, ensuring regulatory compliance, whilst serving as a main point of contact for stakeholder engagement.
You may have knowledge of statutory planning and regulatory frameworks in a regulated sector; however, we can provide training to develop your knowledge.
This is an externally facing role, requiring regular travel across the UK to build external relationships and to visit Head Office locations. There may be occasions whereby a flexibility to your working hours is required, including some weekends, is essential. Participation in the media out of hours standby rota is also required.
First stage interviews will take place via MS Teams on 21st or 22nd July
If you are successful at this stage, second stage interviews will take place in person on either 31st July, 2nd or 3rd August.
