About the role
We are seeking a practical individual to join our team in delivering good-quality maintenance services across our facilities-managed sites. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out basic emergency and remedial repairs, working closely with contractors to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. From reactive building and minor electrical repairs to planned preventative maintenance and testing, you’ll help keep our facilities running smoothly in line with Northumbrian Water’s procedures.

Flexibility is essential, as you’ll also be required to carry our courier service, daily.
If you're looking for a varied role with real responsibility and the opportunity to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
About you
We’re looking for someone hands-on and proactive, with practical experience in electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. While previous experience in a building’s maintenance role would be an advantage, it’s your practical know-how and willingness to get stuck in that will really make the difference.
You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable working with helpdesk systems to manage and respond to tasks efficiently. A solid understanding of health and safety practices is essential, you’ll know how to interpret RAMS.
Strong communication skills are a must, and we’re after someone who works just as well on their own as they do as part of a team. If you take a common-sense, solutions-focused approach to challenges and like to get things done properly, you’ll fit right in.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role as the pool vehicle you will use for this role has a manual gearbox.
