Full Time – Permanent
Salary – Up to £52,508 – depending on experience.
Location – Essex or Suffolk. Hybrid working pattern with a minimum of 2 office working days.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning & Scheduling South leadership team as a Technical Planner.
This Technical Planner role supports both our Planning & Scheduling team and our Water Networks teams. You will ensure pre-site validation of field activities to enable efficient planning & scheduling. This includes supporting the team to optimise planning, assess and to mitigate risks associated with the execution of field activities. The role also includes support to in-day jeopardy management of field work execution.
Our Technical Planner role supports job promoters with coaching in the field to ensure right first-time job promotion is achieved and is a key in supporting continuous improvement within Planning & Scheduling and across all areas of our water network operations and maintenance processes.
Customer Service is of paramount importance and as a Technical Planner you will ensure we deliver on all promises for our customers safely and efficiently.
Performance reporting for the planning team, contract partners and field colleagues are also key responsibilities in this role to support these teams in achieving industry leading results.
About you
This is a great opportunity for a driven, self-motivated leader. We’re looking for you to have a passion for delivering for our customers - right first time and fast.
We’re looking for someone with proven knowledge and experience in water operations or water maintenance. You’ll have a good knowledge of the process for water network repairs and a clear understanding of correct and safe working practices in the field. Alternatively, we will consider applicants with extensive experience in the successful planning of complex field work.
The successful applicant will display strong and pragmatic problem-solving abilities. Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to ensure we deliver industry leading customer service to both internal and external customers. In this Technical Planner role you will support and coach our teams in best practice and therefore a track record of creating working environments where teams engage and achieve is highly desirable.
You’ll need to be confident when working with Microsoft applications as well as experience using Elyx, Maximo, OFS & CC&B.
Experience in building reports and data analysis are key. This is to ensure effective performance reporting is produced and presented to colleagues to secure industry leading performance.
