About the role

 

Are you passionate about delivering engaging training programs? We have an exciting opportunity to be a Wastewater Trainer where you’ll design and deliver training to ensure our operators are competent and safe in their role. This role is critical for us to ensure operators have all the training they need to succeed in their role.

 

Within this role you’ll develop engaging and practical training materials aswell as deliver those training modules within the Wastewater Directorate. The training you deliver will be industry leading and reinforce our high standards of performance and embed our company values and behaviours.

 

This means you’ll partner with operational teams to assess and support adherence to operational procedures across our diverse organisation so that the training you deliver is always up to date with industry standards.

 

Post training you’ll assess competence to ensure everyone meets the required standards of technical knowledge and practical application of that knowledge. In addition, you’ll ensure continuous improvement through ongoing review and improvements of training materials. This will be based on performance data and feedback as you will proactively monitor changes to our external regulatory and compliance environment to ensure our training remains relevant.

 

Externally you’ll maintain networks across operational areas and with other Water and Sewerage companies to foster continuous learning and best practice.

 

Overall, you’ll manage workload effectively whilst collaborating with our talent and training team to ensure alignment with the wider business.

 

 

About you

 

If you are experienced in training within a regulatory environment with a clear understanding of compliance frameworks we want to hear from you. This means you’ll support team development and continuous improvement.

 

You may have worked within a training environment previously, developing your experience of designing training materials against company procedures and standards. Alternatively, you may have worked in operations and be looking for a career change into training, and we can support you with development in training and assessment. Your knowledge and experience of Wastewater operations will be critical to succeeding in this role.  

 

You’ll be able to adapt your delivery style to suit your audience, using your written and verbal communication skills to engage with your audience. You’ll also use your communication skills to communicate with all levels of the business.

 

You’ll demonstrate the ability to work independently to achieve goals and support strategy. In addition, you will use your ability to collaborate with other teams to problem solve and manage competing priorities. 

 

Please note the successful candidate will have a full UK Driving licence.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
