About the role
The Water Network Technical Coordinator is a pivotal senior role within the Water Directorate, providing technical support in the Regional Control team and reporting to the Regional Control Centre Manager. Based in Washington, this role supports the Northumbrian Water region.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage business risk related to the production, movement, or storage of potable water. This is achieved by offering analytical support that ensures consistent management, prediction, and protection across NWG’s entire water network.
As the Water Network Technical Coordinator, you will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to coordinate efforts and ensure projects are completed to maintain network resilience. Your expert knowledge will be key in forecasting, predicting, and mitigating potential network issues.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the safety of all employees, providing good levels of engagement, and overseeing the ongoing development of your team to ensure effective operations. You will work closely with key stakeholders to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally, and you will be responsible for the effective management of resource levels within your team.
About you
We’re looking for the successful candidate to have proven experience in owning and actively promoting key business processes while driving alignment and best practices. You should be able to take the lead and robustly influence internal stakeholders to understand and effectively use the coordination planning process, including coaching, mentoring, and training new and existing staff members.
You should have a demonstrated ability to engage and communicate persuasively with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external, up to the executive level. Strong influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders.
You must be adept at interpreting and interrogating large datasets and clearly and concisely communicating the outputs to advise colleagues across the business.
A working knowledge of cost control, optimisation, regulatory targets, and performance monitoring of quality parameters is essential.
The ideal candidate will be a proven team player who takes Health and Safety seriously and can undertake a demanding work schedule while remaining highly customer-focused.
