Northumbrian Water are advertising this opportunity on behalf of our partnership with the North East Combined Authority
Further Information
The North East Combined Authority was formed on 7 May 2024. We are led by an Elected Mayor and Cabinet and cover the seven local authority areas of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Our purpose is to champion the full potential of our region. Collaborating with our partners and local authorities, we’ll create a better way of life by connecting communities, giving people the skills to succeed, and improving wellbeing for all, so that the North East is recognised as an outstanding place to live, work, visit and invest.
The Net Zero North East England partnership is a collaboration between local government, business, education, the public sector, and civil society to drive a comprehensive North East approach to tackling the climate emergency. The partnership is co-chaired by the North East Mayor and an industry leader. It is evidence-led and prioritises action across our most significant sectors.
We are looking for a Net Zero North East England Partnership manager to help deliver our key commitments – to create a cleaner, greener, and fairer North East. We have a huge opportunity to lead the way in delivering low carbon growth and responding to the climate challenge across the region. The role will shape, support, and drive forward this unique partnership to take us towards a decarbonised North East.
The Net Zero North East England Partnership manager will be instrumental in supporting the partnership board, working with the independent board and the North East Combined Authority to grow the partnership, secure partner commitment, develop our evidence base, tell the North East’s net zero story, and celebrate success.
As we enter the next phase of the partnership there is an exciting opportunity to shape the future, including developing and delivering partnership strategy, driving delivery, ensuring the financial sustainability of the partnership, and taking on a new partnership role in advising the North East Combined Authority on our Net Zero cross-cutting programme.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track-record of building strong, meaningful, and mutually beneficial partnerships. In addition, they’ll have strong commercial and organisational skills, and the ability to bring multiple projects and initiatives from concept to delivery. They’ll lead and convene, working closely with local authorities and regional stakeholders.
They will also have excellent communication, relationship, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage stakeholders, contractors and other partners across multiple projects and opportunities. Flexibility and an ability to balance a varied and diverse workload is essential. Experience of managing senior stakeholders, ideally in a Board environment would be beneficial.
In return for your valuable contribution, you will have access to an excellent benefits package:
