About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Tactical Planning team as a Water Asset Manager. In this leadership role you will provide tactical planning support to operational teams to ensure all investment opportunities have been assessed and prioritised using accurate data.
As a Water Asset Manager, you will lead the Asset Planners to undertake root cause analysis and option development. You will apply the TOTEX hierarchy to recommend best value solutions.
Good quality data and information is key to making informed asset management decisions. Relationships with project stakeholders across Water operational teams and the wider business is fundamental to ensure data is captured accurately, and correct investment decisions are made.
You’ll ensure compliance with governance processes whilst collaborating with Project Sponsors to achieve project milestones. You will be accountable for the quality of information that is submitted to Project Sponsors and Project Managers, which will influence the project budget that is assigned.
Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, and your role will involve driving and supporting efficient, innovative solutions to address business efficiency challenges.
You will have direct line management responsibility which will require mentoring and professional development for the team.
About you
If you have strong people management and leadership skills, then we want to hear from you. You’ll have the opportunity to effectively lead teams and influence investment decisions. An understanding of asset management or water industry operations is beneficial.
We’re looking for you to demonstrate your ability to engage and communicate persuasively with a broad range of stakeholders across a variety of business levels, and externally, so strong influencing ability and good communication skills are essential. This means you will need to be confident in writing detailed reports and delivering presentations.
You’ll have proven leadership experience to help support the professional development of your team. In addition, you will be comfortable making effective decisions and challenging constructively.
A strong attention to detail and adherence to governance is critical to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
The ideal candidate will be resilient and flexible, and able to manage a variable workload with regulatory or operational deadlines.
