About the role

We have a great opportunity to become a pivotal member of our wastewater team as a Technical Policy Advisor.

The successful candidate will have the skills to understand technical concepts and processes whilst being proficient in data analysis to support the team in the delivery of our medium to long term strategies, regulatory compliance, and overall business plan objectives.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing, challenging and developing strategies, standards and technical guidance to support our internal stakeholders in the delivery of key objectives. You will also support the team with information for our diverse range of external stakeholders including customers, regulators, and non-government organisations.

The successful candidate will be confident in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and engage with them regarding the development of information, strategies, and regulatory reporting.

You will be detail focused and have responsibility for ensuring robust governance is applied to data reporting. In this role you will develop broad knowledge across the team function and other wastewater departments but will specialise in an area of wastewater performance as part of your future development pathway.

About you

If you are analytical and data focused, then we want to hear from you.

You’ll have the ability to analyse, interpret and present technical data and continue to develop your technical knowledge. Having great verbal and written communication skills is essential for this role and you’ll be confident in writing documents that are clear and accurate. The diversity of the role requires you to be both driven and agile with motivation to learn.

You’ll be organised, demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills and be motivated to achieving results. You’ll be self-driven and able to manage a demanding workload and have a proven track record of solving problems and finding effective solutions.

We need you to be confident in using a range of Microsoft packages such as Excel for data analysis, Word for reports, Powerpoint for presentations and an ability to use GIS would be beneficial.

The successful candidate may have knowledge of the water industry and a good understanding of the regulatory framework as well as a level of technical knowledge in the provision of water services or broader environmental issues, however this isn’t essential.

Please note interviews will be held in person, on the morning of 7th, 8th and 10th October
