Full time 37 hours per week plus participation on standby rota

Location –Northumbrian Water operating area

Starting Salary – £35,763 - £44,704

 

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Quality Process Support team as our Water Process Control Technician. You’ll join a team that is responsible for providing technical assistance to our operational teams supplying potable water to our customers across the Northumbrian operating area.  

This team focuses on supporting our water supply teams, providing leading water quality to our customers whist protecting the environment. This means you will carry out investigations into understanding where water treatment performance fails to meet our expectations.

This role offers the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop their analysis and problem-solving skills to undertake monitoring of treatment processes.

Within this role you will undertake continuous improvement initiatives, using your willingness to generate new ideas and improvements which includes embedding best practice through coaching to the wider team.

This role will include raising awareness of the water treatment processes, monitoring and control to establish a heightened level of competence across the Water Supply teams. 

Working collaboratively with our Water Supply and Water Quality teams, you will evaluate asset condition, evaluate and performance utilising SCADA, our water monitoring system which allows us to process our operational requirements. You will undertake root cause analysis by reviewing data quality and accuracy, providing written reports, identifying opportunities for improvement.

A current full driving licence is essential. Please note this role may require a DBS to be completed prior to employment

Please note – This role has been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.

About you

Our Process Control Technician (Water Treatment) will carry out regular performance analysis of water quality performance. Therefore, you will be confident with interpreting data to ensure our water treatment processes are operating effectively and efficiently.

This is a varied role whereby you will be able to work effectively as part of a team or alone with minimal supervision and flexible enough to meet a varied workload.

Within this role you will write reports and provide training to teams which means we’re seeking proven communication experience. You will also be capable of delivering technical assistance to those operating our water treatment processes, undertaking data analysis and interpretation. This includes identifying problems and providing solutions to optimise assets and processes.
